The Worst Movies of 2024

Because not everything that glittered was gold this year

The mere existence of a list of bad movies in a given year unleashes a lot of debate. Some consider them mean-spirited or only furthering the idea that film critics aren’t actually movie fans. I tend to blame the film bro world for this, many of whom do craft lists under the guise of discussing what “art” is. But I choose to believe there is a way to discourse about movies that failed to hit the mark, and the 8 movies below do encapsulate that. We looked at movies that failed to achieve what they set out to do, others that failed to honor their narratives, and some that just made us angry.

You can’t appreciate the movies you love without comparing them against movies you didn’t. That being said, we’re all movie fans here and if one of your favorites made this list we love that there’s someone championing them.
