Looks Like It's Time to Talk About 'Yellowstone' Again
I thought for sure this series was over. Spoiler, it's not!
It’s been a minute since I last wrote about Taylor Sheridan’s ultra-successful Paramount series, Yellowstone. Hell, I was the go-to girl to grouse about it during my time at IndieWire, which I recommend you go back and read. I had vowed to never talk about this series again, but I started this newsletter and if there’s one thing I know people love it’s reading about hate watching shows so, let’s do this! I’m putting on my cowboy hat and dropping back into the lives of everyone’s favorite Southern version of Succession: Yellowstone.

Boy, did they pick A WEEK to debut their Season 5 back half. Taylor Sheridan has always said the show isn’t political, despite the makeup of its viewership being mostly conservative. Some episodes have certainly felt like they were catering more to Red state audiences than others, but that wasn’t the case here. Nope, “Desire Is All You Need” plays like someone reminded T-Sher that he’s got 6 episodes left so he better start bringing things to a boil. In the end, we get less boil and more potential simmer.
