'Yellowstone': Suffering, So Much Suffering
Suffering is the job and there was a lot of it watching this episode
I feel like Yellowstone might know what I’m going through as we reach the end of this prolonged Season 5. Why else would everyone’s favorite female marblemouth, Teeter, have a speech about how “this job is suffering?” She was talking to me, right, and the suffering that comes from writing about this damn show. I’ve been handed a note that says she wasn’t, so, maybe Cowboy Creator Daddy is just finally connecting with me because, hot damn, did this episode feel like torture.
That’s mostly because the subsequent 60ish minutes had all the momentum of mid-day LA traffic: grinding to a halt to go one mile. “Catching Coup,” which I swore was titled “Catching Cold,” didn’t give us any serious drama, short of two utterly unnecessary deaths (and a lot of implied racism), for one conclusion that made everyone say, “This is Luke Grimes’ audition for Batman.”
